This classic 71’ motor yacht (hull No. 380) was built by John Trumpy in 1958 to be used as his own personal yacht and was named (as were all his boats) AURORA. All Trumpys are beautifully designed – not an ugly one in existence – but this one, with its clipper bow and fantail and the sweep of the sheer, is truly unique.

Renamed Bernadette by the Cookes, she underwent a major restoration of all mechanical systems and further work done starting at 2011 at Maine's Brooklin Boat Yard. Her topside planking was splined, topsides and superstructure repainted. All her port lights were removed, rechromed and reinstalled. Finally, her cabin stack was removed, rebuilt, repainted and reinstalled. She received the Ocean Reef Club Vintage Classic Award for Best Restoration during the winter of 2011-2012.

Bernadette's summer port is Boothbay Harbor and she is admired by all that pass her, whether at her berth or no the water.
